Details

The research portion of this project was pretty heavy and that’s because Louise is set in a very specific time period. We were aiming for a 1915 Southern California, Mexican-American upperclass family. The silhouette for the 1910s is particularly difficult in that it’s a transitional period from the Gibson Girl, turn-of-the-century silhouette to the Roaring 20s. It’s a silhouette is often forgotten and really there’s only one memorable film in recent history that references it - Titanic. But even that was set a few years earlier. We worked with Western Costumes and combined what we found with stock from UCLA.
